These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the Jome website and waitlist (the "Service"). Jome ("Jome", "we", "us", or "our") is currently in development. By using our website or joining our waitlist, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
Jome is a friendship-first, activity-based app that is being built to help adults connect through shared activities. The app is not yet available. Right now, the Service is limited to this website and the ability to join our waitlist to receive updates and early access opportunities. Features, availability, and timing may change as we continue development.
Eligibility
Jome is a friendship platform designed for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Jome, and to join the waitlist. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Accounts found to belong to users under 18 may be removed.
Joining the waitlist
When you join the waitlist, you provide your email address so we can confirm your sign-up and send you updates and early access opportunities. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access to the app, a place in any future release, or any particular launch date. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
- Submit information that is false, misleading, or not your own.
- Harass, bully, threaten, impersonate, or abuse any other member, or use the Service for dating, romantic, or sexual solicitation.
- Attempt to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
User content and zero tolerance for objectionable content
Jome lets members create profiles, post activities, and message one another ("User Content"). You are solely responsible for the User Content you submit, and you must have the right to share it. By posting User Content you grant Jome a limited licence to host and display it within the Service so that other members can see it.
Jome has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You must not post, send, or share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, pornographic or sexually explicit, violent, discriminatory, or that otherwise targets or endangers another person. This applies to profiles, activities, photos, messages, and every other part of the Service.
To keep the community safe, Jome provides tools so you can:
- Report any member, message, profile, or activity that you believe breaches these Terms, directly from within the app.
- Block any member at any time from a chat or their profile, so you no longer see or hear from them.
We review reports of objectionable content and abusive members and aim to act on credible reports within 24 hours — including removing content and suspending or permanently banning the members responsible. We may remove content or terminate accounts that breach these Terms without prior notice. By using the Service, you agree to this policy and to treat other members with respect.
Intellectual property
The Jome name, logo, website content, and branding are owned by Jome. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our prior written permission.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis while Jome is in development. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any feature or launch will proceed as described. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jome will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be lawfully excluded.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, particularly as Jome moves from development to launch. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
